New from Charlotte Tilbury: The Pillow Talk Collection
30/01/2019Yep, the title is correct! I literally feel so so lucky right now honestly. I know I probably sound like a broken record but I can’t thank the team at Charlotte Tilbury enough for sending me these two beautiful products. Introducing two stunning new additions inspired by the iconic lip shade ‘Pillow Talk’. The concept has evolved starting with a beloved lip liner shade before moving onto a gorgeous matte revolution lip stick. It literally is one of my favourite lipstick shades I own so of course I was excited with the concept of a blusher and eye shadow palette! Read on to see my thoughts, photos and swatches! Initially this was limited edition but both products will be available at Cult Beauty, Feel Unique and Net-a-porter from tomorrow, Thursday 31st January (so hopefully this means the collection is now permanent!!)
Such a gorgeous collection!! ♥ |
Okay so can we just talk about the PR additions that came with this package, like look at the card ‘pillow’! So cute! They also sent me Pillow Talk stickers which are adorable! The whole concept is sooo gorgeous and everything ties in with the shade of Pillow Talk.
Anyway, in the package I received the ‘Pillow Talk Luxury Eye Palette’ and the new Cheek to Chic blusher in Pillow Talk. Can we just appreciate how beautiful both of these products are for a second though? (See below)
Time for a close up ♥ |
So the Pillow Talk lipstick was actually my first Charlotte Tilbury purchase which made me fall in love with her lipstick formula that much that I went on to order another five shades and venture into some other products! It literally is the perfect dusty mauve pink nude, and paired with the lip liner, you literally can’t go wrong!
Eye shadow quad ♥ |
So let’s start with the eye shadow quad because I don’t actually currently own any form of eye shadow from Charlotte Tilbury. I know this doesn’t technically count as it’s not an eye shadow but I am obsessed with the film star bronze & glow, particularly using the bronzer shade to add depth to my eyes during the week when I don’t have time to do a full eye look before work!
This palette really did not disappoint! There are four shades in the eye shadow quad, two velvet matte and two shimmer. The palette contains 5.2 grams of product housed in the luxurious rose gold/brown packaging we’ve come to know and love from Charlotte Tilbury and retailed for £39.
Swatches ♥ |
In the top left we have the ‘prime’ shade, a peach champagne shade that Charlotte suggests to put all over your lid up to your brow bone. The two velvet matte shades; enhance (a matte dusk rose, top right) and smoke (a soft warm brown, bottom right), are super buttery and sooo beautiful. Their formula is matte but with a satin finish and book look amazing on the lids / in the crease. The final shade is the ‘pop’ of colour, a beautiful glittery rose gold shade, perfect to accentuate the lid.
This really is such a beautiful palette, one that’s definitely up my street and probably a lot of yours too! It’s just a shame that it was limited edition! The shadows were extremely pigmented and blended out on the eye beautifully. I think a lot of the beauty community are secretly hoping that this will be brought back as part of the permanent collection because of how loved the pillow talk lipstick is!
My new favourite blusher ♥ |
Moving on to the new ‘Pillow Talk’ cheek to chic blush, these blusher compacts contain some of my favourite blush formulas and shades. This is another limited edition blusher containing a generous 8 grams of product and retailing for £30.
This blusher is a two-tone shimmery powder blush, containing a dusky pink and a champagne shimmer shade designed to give an ‘all over natural glow’. I can honestly say this product does both! I don’t own a lot of shimmery blushers but this one produces the most stunning results. The concept of these blushes is to swirl your brush in the darker outer area of the circle and sweep over the cheeks, before applying the central highlight shade to the apples of the cheeks.
If you don’t own this collection already, get involved ♥ |
So to round things up, this is a beautiful collection. Originally I was sad that the collection wasn’t permanent and only available directly from Charlotte Tilbury’s website, but thankfully it’s been brought back due to popular demand!!
For those of you who did manage to get your hands on anything from this collection, what did you think? For those who haven’t, keep an eye on Cult Beauty, Feel Unique and Net-a-Porter tomorrow!
