Anastasia Beverly Hills X Amrezy
The Amrezy Palette
Part Two of the coveted and highly anticipated collaboration between influencer Amrezy and cult favourite makeup brand Anastasia Beverly Hills
Unless you’ve been under a rock somewhere I’m sure by now you would’ve seen the collaboration that took the internet by storm. I like everyone else fell in love with the highly coveted ABHxAmrezy highlight, I’m on my second and have one back up left… Housed in a beautiful glittery casing, the Amrezy palette boasts a variety of neutrals and pink shades with a burst of colour and glitter along the way. Complete with a matching hand held mirror encrusted with pink gemstones, it’s no wonder everyone was clambering over each other to get this as soon as it became available on the ABH UK website.
I personally went straight in for the full PR Kit, you know I needed that gold and pink ‘Amrezy’ box. Read on below for my full review!
Packaging
When you hear ‘ABH palette’, you cast your mind to ‘Modern Renaissance’ or ‘Soft Glam’, or if you were lucky enough to have owned one, one of the Makeup by Mario collaborations! Either way, a familiar design that we’ve all come to know and love from the brand, with a couple of variants along the way, but generally the same rule of thumb applies each time they release a new palette.
The palette contains 16 pans, each holding just over 2g of product, complete with the usual double ended brush (which I love by the way, one of the best brushes to be included with a palette in my opinion!), and a mirror on inside of the lid.
Swatches
We’ve all come to know and love the ABH eyeshadow formula and how it performs. I’m pleased to report for those that may still be dubious, this is definitely the ABH formula we all know and love, complete with a new formula to give you additional sparkle and more texture options to experiment with!
All of the shades swatched beautifully, the mattes were buttery and pigmented, the metallics insanely silky and glossy, and the pressed glitters were b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. As you can see from the photos I picked a day with some natural sunlight coming through the windows which only enhances the textures and dazzling sparkles from the glitters.
For those also wondering (I get a lot of questions about my swatch stencils) I purchased this 16 pan stencil from swatchperfect.co.uk enabling me to show off the ultra glam shades on offer in this palette.
So the palette contains a variety of different shadows, 10 shadows, 2 pressed glitters and four pressed pigments.
- Shadows
- BK (the jet matte black shade that every palette needs (in my opinion!))
- 1988 (a rich chocolate matte brown)
- OG (matte ‘fudge’ neutral brown)
- New Yawka (caramel matte brown)
- Waisted (satin ballerina worthy baby pink)
- Gorgina (rose tinted gold metallic)
- Leo (metallic ocean blue, but think sky meets the maldives, aka stunning!)
- Dragon (metallic sunset orange, think copper/golden goldfish scales!)
- Barb (a metallic lilac duo chrome with a lime green shift)
- Anastasia (a beautiful soft peachy pink metallic with a gold shift)
- Pressed Pigments
- Cupcake (beautiful metallic lavender)
- Rezy (a vivid metallic fusia hot pink)
- Šemsa (a matte pressed pigment, think fusia but mixed with plum!)
- Yugo (a matte plum based brown, perfect for adding depth to that outer corner!)
- Pressed Glitter
- Litty (bronze/copper glitter – my idea of eyeshadow heaven!)
- Gemini (rustic antique gold with reflects of silver)
We’ll start with the pressed glitters as these are a brand new formula, first seen in this palette. You can’t go wrong with a gold and a bronze, personally two shade I will reach for time and time again if I want an ultra glam “I’m going out” look! As with any glitter there will be fallout (do your base after!). I’ve personally found these work best either on a brush sprayed with fix +, but even better if you’re using them as a topper, add some ABH glitter adhesive. Best glitter glue I’ve used, I’ve got two bottles of it!
The pressed pigment matte shades (Šemsa & Yugo) and metallic shades (Cupcake & Rezy) are beautiful. Vibrant, blendable and exactly what we’re used to from ABH. It’s worth mentioning that this palette only contains 6 matte shades. A black, 3 neutral warm brown shades and two fusia/plum shades (both pressed pigments). Certainly enough to create a beautiful blended look, mate multi-tonal or shimmer/glitter galore!
The metallic shades are exceptional and everything you want to put all over your lid. Vivid, sparkly, and most importantly, work perfectly with the matte shades in the palette! Definitely a palette full of possibilities for those who are artistic and creative, but also for those who are inexperienced and want something simplistic. You could create the most gorgeous all matte look by using OG, New Yawka, 1988 and a hint of BK paired with black liner and some lashes. Add a layer of Gemini or Litty over the top and you’ll take a smokey matte look to full on date night/out out glam!
Summary
In my opinion ABH smashed it with this second Amrezy collaboration. To be honest, was there really any doubt after the beloved ABHxAmrezy highlight? The thought certainly didn’t cross my mind once, I just added mine to my basket and waited eagerly for it to arrive.
The palette is available now on the ABH UK website , Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic, Beauty Bay, Selfridges and Harrods . Standard RRP is £49 but Beauty Bay currently have this on sale for £41.75 right now! ABH UK still have the Amrezy mirror from the PR Kit available on their website for £25 but who knows how long they’ll have stock left. If only this was the same for the first collection, I was so sad that was before ABH started making their press release kits available to purchase as I wanted the Black & Gold mirror too!
