Anastasia Beverly Hills – Holiday Collection 2017 Part 1 – Sugar Glow Kit & Blush Kits
28/10/2017And… another holiday collection review! Unfortunately this review is the Anastasia Beverly Hills 2017 Holiday Collection minus the Prism palette and the lipsticks. I had intended to get all the palettes in one go and post a review for you guys, but Prism did not get released with rest of the collection on the UK website and I’ve only just got hold of it this week! Safe to say I’m really disappointed, Anastasia didn’t exactly make it crystal clear that it wouldn’t be launching or provide a reason behind the delay once we realised it wasn’t on the website but everything else was. There were ALOT of unhappy people who had been waiting around all day, myself included. I read somewhere on Twitter or Instagram that this was due to shipping delays or something but who knows. Luckily following the subculture release I had a feeling the launch time would be 5pm again so I wasn’t so much ‘sat round waiting’ as opposed to eagerly anticipating but it must’ve been a pain for anyone who had work in the evening etc! Unsurprisingly Cult Beauty and Beauty Bay both got hold of the palette a day before the official website.
ABH Sugar Glow Kit & Blush Kits ♥ |
So let’s start with the Sugar Glow Kit because let’s be honest, who else saw this and needed it in their life instantly? I know there was a lot of controversy surrounding this palette from all the die hard ABH fans as this was a glow kit that consisted of three ‘cult favourite’ glow shades and only one new highlight shade but I honestly think Gumdrop makes up for that, it’s beautiful! For me, I only own Marshmallow and Butterscotch – both from the ‘Sweets’ Glow Kit. I believe ‘Starburst’ was from the ‘Gleam’ Glow Kit which annoyingly had sold out days before I placed my first ABH.co.uk order.

So anyway, in the palette we have:
- Marshmallow – a beautiful white pearl
- Gumdrop – a new pink/lilac duo chrome highlight
- Starburst – a gorgeous icy pink
- Butterscotch – definitely a firm favourite of mine, the perfect honey gold
All four shades are 7.4g of product each, Vegan and Cruelty Free.

The consistency and luminosity of these highlighters are absolutely beautiful, true to Anastasia’s iconic formulae. The ABH A23 is one of my favourite highlighter brushes as it picks up so much product and distributes it precisely and evenly. I’ve had this brush for a while now and it pairs perfectly with every powder highlighter formulae I’ve tried so far.

I know quite a few people are still debating whether to get this glow kit, £39 does seem an awful lot of money if you are only missing ‘Gumdrop’. Personally though, this is going to be my new travel companion as it’s got the perfect shade variety, all my favourite hues of glow to suit every mood!
Blush Kits ♥ |
Moving on to the new blush kits… Anastasia released the blush trio’s a few months ago but they didn’t really catch my eye. These blush kits on the other hand definitely did jump out at me and straight into my basket! The Radiant and Gradient Blush Kits are both beautiful, containing a generous 4 x 4.7g of product for £30 each. There are two kits available, the Radiant Kit – aimed at fair/light/medium skin tones, and Gradient Kit – aimed at tan/dark skin tones.
Swatches ♥ |
The Radiant kit contains an array of pink and coral blushes:
- Spoiled – cool toned pink blush with gold flecks
- Coastline – a satin effect peach toned coral
- Breeze – a satin effect rose / mauve pink
- Terrace – a satin effect crimson peach
I’ve literally fallen in love with this blush kit, I can’t put it down! The blush shades are beautifully pigmented and finely milled so they’re super easy to blend.

The Gradient kit contains more chocolate/berry toned blushes and I’m not mad at these either. I’ve actually enjoyed playing around with them and found some of them to be perfect for contouring!
- Vegas – a matte terracotta brown
- Dusk – a satin effect blush in brown taupe
- Chocolate – a satin effect warm toned copper/milk chocolate brown
- Blackberry – a beautiful deep berry blush

So now that I’ve finally got my hands on PRISM I can test this out for you guys, maybe compare it to Subculture? I’ll be aiming to get that up by the end of next weekend so keep your eyes peeled!
